Common Ingredients used in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) - Part 2

1. Tang Shen

Functions:
• Reinforce the vital energy of the middle cavity
• Supplement the body fluid and nourish the blood

Suitable for:

• Deficiency of vital energy of the middle cavity
• Pale complexion


2. Huai Shan (Common Yam Rhizome)

Functions:
• Regulate the function of digestive system
• Reinforce the lung and the kidney

Suitable for:

• Poor appetite and loose stool
• Prolonged cough due to weakness of lung
• Seminal emission and frequent urination
• Excessive virginal discharge


3. Dang Gui (Angelica Root)

Functions:
• Nourish the blood and promote the blood circulation
• Regulate menstruation and relief pain
• Nourish the intestine and smooth bowel movement

Suitable for:

• Deficiency of the blood
• Irregular menstruation
• Constipation due to dryness of the intestine

4. Gou Ji Zi (Fructus Lycii Wolf Berries)

Functions:
• Nourish the liver blood
• Improve eyes sight

Suitable for:

• Poor eyesight
• Degeneration of the eye and blurred vision

5. Du Zhong (Eucommia Bark)

Functions:
• Reinforce the liver and kidney
• Reinforce the tendon, ligament and bone
• Relief hypertension

Suitable for:

• Weakness of the lower back and knee
• Pain of the lower limbs
